A Dialogue

Bob: I don't know man, I think Firefox is ten times better than Safari.

Tom: Dude, like i said before, I don't care, it's all the same to me.

Bob: You're like a caveman bro, you're living in prehistoric times. We're living in the age of computers and entering the conceptual age, time to wake up and get with the program.

Tom: Eh, the internet and technology is great don't get me wrong, i'm just not super involved and consumed by it. And i'm not a caveman, douche-bag.

Bob: Yeah, ok Ug whatever you say, thats why you were still using Myspace till like last week. Hah!

Tom: Well yeah, thats true but its all a waste of time to me. I mean, Facebook is better and all but its still used primarily by a generation that has progressively become less friendly, scared of actual human interaction, and the ability to go up to someone in person and say hi or meet them. Instead now people with a click of a button can become "friends". Thats not a friend, its not even an acquaintance, its a virtual connection that disconnects people from actually interacting.

Bob: You're totally wrong dude, the internet has brought cultures and people together that at one point of history no one thought possible. It has expanded millions of peoples perspectives and is a great tool for education. If thats not meaningful then I don't know what is.

Tom: Well Bob, I gotta give it to you, you made some great points. But let me ask you something, and be honest, if I was to go into your internet browser and look at your recent history what would i find? Would it be mostly educational documents and intellectually sophisticated reading material or would it mostly be internet porn and funny viral videos of cats doing funny things?

Bob: Uhhhhh...

Tom: Exactly.
